Personal Life
The current photo was taken by Erica Clark on the river Cam in Cambridge, UK. It was Erica's birthday and her son, took us all for a punt in celebration. Erica's daughter is at the head of the punt (behind me), and her husband, Dominic, is next to her. In the uncropped version, Dominic's foot is visible in the camera's frame.
The previous photo on my home page was taken at KRO2 in Manchester, UK November 30th 2005 at the dinner reception of an ontology development course at Manchester. I think it was Matthew Horridge who snapped the photo.

A photo of my dad, Joseph W. Luciano. It was my mom's favorite late-life photo taken (by me) on the beach in Bonita Springs, Florida (USA), about a year or so before he died in 1985.
I hold a pilot's license for single engine land airplanes. I love flying and in 2002 was invited to go to the annual Oshkosh AirVentre (air show). It was the 50th anniversary of the event. My friend Phill Apley took this photo at Oshkosh, WI in August 2002. It was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at the http://enflight.com booth, a week later, it was half that at ISMB (Edmonton, CA) and raining. 
. I also enjoy hiking, rock climbing, scuba diving and cycling and generally being outdoors and alive in nature. To me, nature is nurture.
